Dr. Shawn Seifikar
Dr. Seifikar is a Dentist Anesthesiologist and the founder of Southwestern Sedation Education. He graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1995 and obtained his bachelors of Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas where he played soccer. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Baylor College of Dentistry. While in dental school at Baylor Dr. Seifkar discovered his passion for pharmacology, which eventually lead him to pursue a carrier in anesthesiology. Dr. Seifikar completed a three-year post-doctoral dental anesthesiology residency program, a unit of the medical anesthesiology residency program administered through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) medical education program. His education and training experiences were directed and coordinated by the faculty of the department of Dental Anesthesiology within the School of Dental Medicine and the department of Anesthesiology within the School of Medicine. His anesthesiology training consisted of medical rotations in internal medicine, critical care, chronic pain and anesthesiology at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Montefiore Hospital, Magee Women’s Hospital, Saint Margaret’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Center for Special Needs Patients at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine.
